BAROOGA COUNTRY INN MOTEL

Barooga is in the heart of Sun Country along the Murray River.

It is the home of peach farms, orchards, crops of different types, dairy farms and Amazing golf.

It was known as the home of Peaches and Cream. A relaxed township that is away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The locals knew everyone.

Great place for families to raise children or bring them on holidays. Where the sand is warm and the sun warmer. What is not to love

It is still much the same and even more, it is now known as a destination!

 

Our motel is situated on 2.5 hectares of landscaped gardens and surrounded by a 36 hole championship Golf Course, this motel features an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court and small mini golf for the kids or the kids at heart. It also has a breakfast/conference room.

The owners are Graham and Kerry and they have been there since September 2020. Moving back to be around Kerry’s father.

Tough beginnings when we started with Covid and the Dividing Border Closures. No visitors but as fate would have it we are still here.

Kerry was originally a born and bred Cobram Girl, growing up her dad played golf. Her dad and Auntie have both been successful in getting a hole in one on the local course.

Kerry’s personal history is nursing, owning a previous motel and starting up a hugely successful business with Graham.

Graham is a kiwi who started as a jack of all trades going on to get a horticulture degree. He worked for the famous Wither Hills Winery in Marlborough and then joined Kerry in making and running an internationally acclaimed wine tour company.

Both Graham and Kerry have worked on making the Barooga Country Inn a Destination for travellers and are fixing up the rooms to be fresh and homely. “We want to be proud of what we are selling to our guests.

A feature in most of the rooms is jigsaw pictures that Kerry had sent her dad to keep him occupied whilst he was unwell. It is like a part of him is with us.

We are reaping the rewards of happy return guests with them all commenting on the improvements since they started.
